Ameana is a doctor in the NHS who paints. The inspiration for ‘It’s Hard to be a Hero’ is from her working front line.

'Here is a picture of clown which brings enjoyment and should be happy, but instead this is a sad clown. Working on the frontline I felt like I had to smile and act brave, but I was scared, and I felt like I was being drafted to war which we had not say in and no idea what we were getting into. The spirals in the background of the image convey the never-ending pain and confusion caused by the Covid pandemic. '
