Jane Stebbing
About The Artwork
'I have been sharing art with three friends every week for several months now which has really encouraged me to start painting again. I retired in 2019.

My name is Jane Stebbing and I live in Eaton near Norwich. My father, who is 95, lives in Surrey and is still in his own home. He is supported by my sister who lives nearby. Pre pandemic I used to travel down every few weeks to stay with my Dad but I only saw him a few times last year, the last time being his 95th birthday in October.

At Christmas I knitted him a pair of socks and my sister sent me a photo of him wearing them. He was very pleased with them and apart from keeping his feet warm, he said his slippers fitted better! I feel that the socks are giving him the hug I am unable to do at the moment!

I copied the photo and painted a picture in watercolour. Please find attached. I have the picture on my wall and feel it captures my Dad quite well sitting in his favourite chair. I ring him every day.'
